Speaking Engagement: The Montessori Event 2026 (American Montessori Society)
We are honored to share that María Eva Chaffin, Head of School at Seeds of Life Montessori Academy and founder of Montessori Behavior, will be hosting a workshop at American Montessori Society’s flagship conference, The Montessori Event 2026.
The Prepared Adult: Your Role in Creating an Inclusive Montessori Environment
Workshop Session | Saturday, March 21 | 3:00–4:00 PM
Topic Area: Inclusion & Disability
In this reflective and practice-centered workshop, María Eva explores how the inner work of the Montessori guide is foundational to creating truly inclusive environments, especially for neurodivergent children. Rather than focusing solely on strategies or accommodations, this session returns to the core Montessori principle of the prepared adult.
Participants will be invited to examine their own mindset, regulation, and observation practices, and how these directly impact children's emotional safety and success in the classroom. Through concrete tools and real-world examples, María Eva offers guidance on creating environments where all children feel safe, supported, and genuinely seen.
Grounded in Montessori philosophy, neuroscience, and decades of classroom and leadership experience, this session affirms a powerful truth: inclusion begins with us. When the adult is prepared, regulation follows, and meaningful, sustainable inclusion becomes possible.
